A Story of My Own

She looked at me - questioning: ‘What are you doing here?”
I suppose - I’d been wondering the same.

Why do I do the things that I do? Why is this what I do?
A simple question…with begged such a complex response.

Because - it slows my mind….it opens my heart….it teaches me to trust.
Because - I love the magic in the moment….and how I make time stand still.
Because - I love not knowing where each day’s story may lead…
And mostly - I love uncovering a story of my own.

She seemed satisfied with my response. Enough so - for today.
And - just like that - she let out a short snort and long neighhhhh…and walked away.

Picture Postcard Right

It’s a rare day that the sun shines.
Here…..in these long months of winter.

In truth - I’ve grown accustomed to the grey.
I’ve even learned to embrace it.

But then - there are those extraordinary mornings when all is clear and bright…
And absolutely picture postcard right…

I’m reminded how much I miss this light.
