Maybe - it’s because it’s so everyday ordinary.
A back porch. Two cats. A broom. A pair of old work boots.
Maybe - it’s because it feels like real life.
I wondered about the generations who have lived and loved here.
I wondered about the cats.
I wondered what about it was so captivating.
And then - I just stop wondering - and decided to capture it just as it is.
A simple portrait of a simple lady.
I named her Isabel.
Exquisitely unique. One-of-kind. A beauty.
Such a sweet sweet face.
Both she and her mother bravely approached me.
So much trust. So much love.
I know this mother.
I’ve been photographing her since she - too - was this newborn stage.
Which then practically (doesn’t it?) makes me this one’s grandmother.
And - I wondered - how did I ever get to be this age?
