A blanket of summer whites
Cooling - in these last dog days of hot summer.
Already - the light is fading.
The wheels are turning.
The circles…the cycles…the seasons - changing.

A blanket of summer whites
Cooling - in these last dog days of hot summer.
Already - the light is fading.
The wheels are turning.
The circles…the cycles…the seasons - changing.
Aliens from outer space.
Newly landed.
Checking out this blue planet called earth.
To their right - were nothing but cornfields.
To their left - a herd of wild bovines silently grazing.
No earth creatures within view.
Nothing else to do…nowhere else to be.
They continue their march. Forward.

Blinking my eyes. Shaking my head in disbelief.
Reminding myself - I’m still experiencing the world thru the imaginary eyes of a 4-year old.
Somewhere.
Where here meets there.
And this bumps into that.
Over this hill and around that corner.
In between where I’ve been …and where I’ll go and grow.
In this imaginary space of not-knowing….
There is this.
