It was unexpected.
I looked in the old barn - curious….merely to take a quick peek.
Never - in my farthest imaginings - did I imagine
The magic…the fun…the surprise
Of color…and shape…and light.
A modern day composition.
Music and dance and art abstracted.
All coming together - like this.
“She’s not real” - he said…looking over his shoulder and passing me by.
As if - I didn’t know.
As if - I can’t distinguish the truth from make-believe.
But - there she sat.
Perched.
So gentle. So still. So very very wise.
And - as the rain changed to snow..falling slowly and silently around her.
I decided - she’s as real as I might ever imagine her to be.
There is magic in make-believe.
And - she posed for me. And - smiled.
And - I left it at that.
Every now and again - I’m reminded from where I’ve come from.
What I did….before I did this.
Who I was…before I’ve become who I am - today.
Walking the neighborhoods of New Orleans…
Loving the fun color…the balance…the exquisite detail
Of local lore and architecture.
