Tightrope Walkers

No one promised easy. One step forward..two back. Two baby steps back..and three giant ones forward.

Balance is tenuous. I watch them up there teetering and tottering..weebling and wobbling. I hold my breath...afraid that even that - my silent breathing -  might make them fall.

They don't look up. They don't look down. Centered. Steady and slow. Focused. Arms outstretched. Feet feeling their way on their own uncertain ground.

Can you see them? The nymphs and sprites and fairy tightrope walkers - all a-glitter and a-glow? Can you see them in the morning light?
