Recently - I was asked how it is I do what I do. What f-stop..what shutter speed? Do I meter for the light..or for the dark? What are the rules I follow..when I look thru my lens...see what I see....when I compose the scene that is unfolding before me?

The questions stopped and stumped me. It made me think about what might be the answer.

I don't know..is what I said.

There isn't any pre-thought..any methodology..any technique or technicality. There are no rules that I adhere to or follow. It either feels right..or it feels wrong. What I see and how I do - is intuitive. It comes from a quiet place..a knowing space - that somewhow somewhere resides inside.

Sure - the sun's rise should be rightfully captured in the distant horizon...filling the sky with its light and luminosity. But today - I was mesmerized by the sun's rise reflecting in the waters stretched out before me. It was to that that I turned my camera's lens.
