Quiet and Peace

In the midst of the chaos - I'd rise up out of my practice and find moments of quiet and peace.

The world- around me - really was(and is) a beautiful place. In spite of the darkness..there was light. In spite of the despair..there was hope. My camera had lain silent beside me for years. Wanting something more - I picked it up anew and began to see.

As I looked inwards when practicing on my mat…this practice with my camera offered me the gift of looking out. It reminded me of nature's grace and its cycles. It grounded and centered..and held me in its embrace. I began to understand the universe as one that had its own rhythm and rhyme and reason of its own.

Winters melt into springs...and springs blossom into summer. Autumn's full palette of colors...surrender into winter whites. And always - we can begin again. A new day.

I learned about how little control any of us really has. What's happened..is behind us. What will be..will be. There really is just 'this'. Rain or shine..grey or technicolor - we only have this one beautiful day.

And – with that same calm and focused determination I practiced yoga..I began a visual meditation in mindfulness. In letting go of perfection. In cultivating presence and awareness and recording what is.

I learned to simply show up. To stop..to look..to see. I learned that that prize is in the practice...and that wherever I was..was exactly what and where I needed to be.

Sharing with you my practice and process - this is the 4th part of my unfolding story.

And - thank you to all of you who took the time to respond to my survey.
