Come sit - she said. Come tell me your stories. About those long winters..and short springs. About seasons passing. About all it is that you've heard and seen. About life's invaluable lessons.
Come sit - she said. I'm right here with you. I'm present. I'm listening.
He came. He sat. He gazed out over the vast damp grey spring landscape. He promised that this too shall pass. Like everything other. It's just a moment - this unexpected snow that's falling. It's fleeting.
We've been here before...and we'll be here again. It's just a little detour...a little unexpected twist and turn...it's a life lesson that we are continually re-learning.
Patience - he reminded me. Give it time. Give it space. Breathe it in....and then breathe it out again. Feel it. This moment will never happen ever in quite the same way again.
And so - we sat. Side by side. Separately and together. In silence. We waited and watched. We listened and heard. A distant bird sang. The earth smelled of sweet new life coming. The wet snow and rain embraced us in it a blanket of warmth.
Come sit - she said. And together - they watched the time passing.
