An ordinary summer scene on an ordinary summer's day.
Endless greens - dotted with specks of blacks and whites and grey. Cows grazing. A warm breeze blowing. The sun's shadows move across the field. Slowly. As if they're doing so with intention. As if there's some great grand master plan.
No thing in particular worthy of remarking. Really.
But - I love this ordinary.
I love that it connects me to the mountains. I love that itconnects me to the ground and the sky. I love that it connects me to the animals and their natural rhythms. I love how itreminds me of how simple and easy it can be.
We rise. We fill our bellies with sustenance...our lives with personal meaning and connection. We rest. We sleep.
Anyone might view this extraodinarily ordinary scene without stopping and looking to think...to feel...to see.
On this summer's day - it stopped me.
