Seeing Differently

October 22, 2015 Marcie Scudder

On another morning - it would have been all about the great blue bird.
About her elegance and balanced grace. About her focus and concentrated patience.

I would have stalked and followed her. I would have gotten down on my knees to capture her.
For years I've hoped to find her perched on this great rock instead of walking the perimeter.
As she does - most always.

And - here she was. On this great rock. Today.

On this morning - it was all about the tree.
The stunning red...and not the blue. The leaves...and not the feathers.

Maybe  - it's the brilliant fleeting color of this too-fleeting season?
Or- maybe it's just me. Looking at the same old scene....and choosing to see differently?
