It's been - now - almost a week since I've last seen the sun.
I'd taken it for granted.
I'd stopped listening and seeing and basking in its warming light.
I'd forgotten how the landscape feels without it.
The trees are mere shadows of their fuller selves.
It's sad. And - it's happy. And - it's just as it is.
On this greyscale morning - they looked to be this tree's leaves.
Flying.
I marveled at their neat little v- formations.
Is it possible? Can a wind's energy actually create such beauty?
And then - I looked again.
Like the leaves....like the sun....like the corn fields that lie still and empty.
How many more mornings will these Canadian Geese be here to greet me?
