Three Thousand

December 4, 2016 Marcie Scudder

By my accounting - this marks THREE THOUSAND.

It's hard - even for me - to imagine...to think back...to remember when it was just one.
One image. One captured moment. One quiet breath. One first beginning.

THREE THOUSAND.
It's inconceivable - really - that I've managed to show up here that many times.

Regular...routined....disciplined daily practice.
Some days have been better days than others.
I've fought with resistance...wrestled with procrastination...invited fear to come sit by my side.

I've struggled with my need for perfection.
Letting go.
Trusting.
Believing in the magic of the process....and the prize that lies within the pose.

What have I learned?

Perfect - I'll never be.
Practiced - I've become. I am.
Mastery happens over time. ...with consistent constant repetition.
No two days are ever quite the same.
The body rhythms...the thought patterns....the clouds that pass through the endless blue or grey.
Every moment - is new.

I have returned and begun. Begun and returned. And returned and begun again.

I can't say where it is I'm going. I do know that something more is calling.

In the meanwhile - and while I'm reconfiguring -  I continue on walking.
 And looking.
And seeing.
And observing and capturing my world thru my camera's lens.

I am only one small drop..... in a the vastest of oceans.
These sheep don't know.
They're just out here reveling in the season's snow.

Marking time.
Honoring with me - THREE THOUSAND.
