Surprised to see such a sight - I asked:
What are you doing? Where are you going? Is this a walk you walk every day?
He looked at me surprised that I was as surprised to see:
Strolling - he said. To nowhere in particular.
Just doing what we do...getting our exercise...as we must every day.
He spoke as if I should know.
I confessed - I know not.
Here in these mountains - they call me a flatlander.
Never have I felt more so than I did today.
Once again - I'm reminded.
This is Vermont.
I can expect the unexpected.
Even...and especially on a grey winter day.
