First snow.
Always - I’ve believed these girls resisted those long dark months spent confined to their barn.
I watched - the winds blow.
I watched - the surprise in their eyes.
I watched - as they sought warmth in the trees…and each other.
And - suddenly - I understood that what I’d believed was un-true.
They want to be inside where it’s safe from the storms.
They’re ready to hunker down.
They’re ready for winter.
Am I?
