As my body changed..so did my mind. As I learned the art and practice of setting intentions..energy followed. My old habitual ways of being in this world..slowly re-shaped themselves. The colors were brighter..the air was fresher..the world suddenly appeared a new and different place.
Having been an athlete for most of my life – I found myself grounded in a challenge that demanded and commanded more than just my physical strength and endurance. I learned to effort less..to try easy. I learned to find comfort in discomfort. I learned patience. I learned commitment. I learned to trust and believe.
Mostly - I learned how to surrender..to accept…to appreciate..to love.
With each breath…I could feel myself release into this new found space. My heart opened..and with it - my mind. I found calm. I found center. I found myself looking and seeing things in a whole new light. One that was filled with endless possibility...with self-compassion..with belief...and with hope.
With my feet rooted - I learned to fly.
