Without Thinking

October 4, 2015 Marcie Scudder

I walk without thinking.
Some days.
I walk - only - to feel. To listen. To see. To smell the sweetness of this earth. To touch its autumn fragrance.

I wish for magic. I imagine the impossible.
I believe in dreams that only make themselves known in the in-between state of night and day.

They were simply six trees all dressed-up in one thousand colors.
Every hue and shade of an October rainbow.
Unthinkable - really.

The pinks surprised me. Everything - these days - surprises me.

I'm sure I've done this one thousand times.
I've walked this walk. I've seen this scene. I've experienced spectacular autumn.

And yet - it's always new.

I begin again. I see again. I feel - thru new eyes.
