It was just yesterday. The colors were pink and yellow and the softest of greens.
The sun shone bright. The earth was dark and rich and ripe.
The farmer nodded and waved...as he sowed the fields with new seed.
He was waking. We all were. After a season of hibernation and deep sleep.
No thing amazes...and every thing does.
Too often - I feel myself Still. Standing. Watching. Wondering. How did it happen? When? And - where was I when it did?
A tiny little kernel was planted. It grew. It is now a stalk of tall corn.
There were newborn kid goats lying at the feet of their nannie-goat-mothers.
The goslings and ducklings were hatching and beginning their new lives..
The cows were birthing their first-of-this-season's calves.
My sweet little boy puppy....is growing too fast.
Again - the farmer waved and nodded...nodded and waved. I smiled and nodded and waved back.
I wondered if he remembered this season's beginnings. I wondered if he recognized me.
This girl with two pups.
Still. Standing. Feeling. Breathing.
Present and accounted for.
And - walking - this everyday ordinary path.
