In a month that's filled with color...and life...and all things new - my eyes rest. A simple scene. A singular palette. A lone and only tree.
Deep roots. Expansive branches. Limbs that bend and sway in the breeze. Leaves that change their colors.
The fields that were dotted in dandelion gold have faded to a shimmering silver. The blossom pinks have transformed themselves into leafy green. The mist and fog hangs heavy in the early morning before the sun breaks thru.
I want to believe that there's something 'more'. Something better. Something enticing and exciting and full. I want to know what awaits. Over there. On the other side of this meadow....this mountain....this tree.
It's quiet now. There's stillness. There's peace.
And - I ask myself what might 'more' look like? What might 'more' be? Why do I continue to seek and search....if everything I need I've found?
Here. Now. This morning. This day.
In this lone and only singular tree.
